FRAMINGHAM, MA — A local nonprofit that supports LGBTQ youth needs a little help decorating its holiday tree.

OUT MetroWest is participating in this year's Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest "Festival of Trees," and is trying to complete a rainbow-themed tree. During each festival, local businesses and groups contribute fully-decorated holiday trees, which are then raffled off to raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs.

"It's a neat event because it provides a safe way to share the holiday spirit during the pandemic, and it pulls together folks from so many parts of the community," OUT MetroWest spokeswoman Julie Blazar said.

Typically during the Festival of Trees, spectators can visit an indoor tree display to place bids. This year, the Boys & Girls Clubs is holding a drive-thru event on Dec. 5.

OUT MetroWest is collecting ornaments through Tuesday. Each one should be about 3 inches tall, and should be one of the colors of the pride flag: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple (or rainbow). Mail to: OUT MetroWest, PO Box 2122, Framingham, 01703.
