Elizabethton – The Fife & Drum Corps offers lessons free of charge 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET at the Sycamore Shoals Visitors Centers at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park.

Nashville – Shakespeare in the Park features A Winter’s Tale and Antony & Cleopatra performed by the Nashville Shakespeare Festival with gates open 6 p.m. and performances 7:30 p.m. CT through Sept. 17 at the Centennial Park Bandshell. There is a suggested donation of $10.

Martin – The Soybean Festival has more than 50 events including live music that celebrates agriculture and a tiny, yet worthy, vegetable.

Memphis – The Southern Heritage Classic is the football match-up between Tennessee State University and Jackson State University, preceded by fun events.

Pulaski – Find the answer to the age-old question, “Where’s the Beef?” with Here’s the Beef, a festival full of agricultural pride in Middle Tennessee’s beef cattle industry.

Savannah – The Moving Wall, the nation’s traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial, is on display noon CT Sept. 7 through 4 p.m. CT Sept. 11 in the historic district of Savannah on the Tennessee Street Park grounds.
