SPOTLESS

I’m a cleaning expert – my easy schedule will give you a spotless home without spending more than 20 minutes a day

TO many people, the idea of being able to clean their home in less than 20 minutes seems like a far-fetched dream.

It turns out that making things spotless in a timely manner is actually a lot more doable than you might think.

It doesn’t matter if you’re obsessed with keeping your house clean at all hours of the day, or you’re the type of person who only occasionally tidies up when you have a guest coming over, a quick cleaning checklist can make a huge difference by making things feel so much less chaotic.

The president of Molly Maid, one of the top to your house cleaning companies of 2022, Vera Peterson had a lot to say about what it takes to make sure you’re living in an environment that’s both tidy and comfortable.

She told Readers Digest: “If you put in even 20 minutes of effort a day, you’ll keep chaos at bay.”

Dedicating 20 minutes of your day to making sure your home feels like a nicer environment to be in doesn’t come across as too overwhelming.

GATHER CLEANING SUPPLIES

Peterson suggested creating two or three cleaning bins or baskets. One should be designated for the bathroom, one for the kitchen, and the third for the bedrooms.

Clearing clutter out of the way before getting started with deep cleaning each room of your home is a smart move that will ultimately save you a lot of time.

She also suggested grouping chores together such as going room by room or starting off by cleaning all the mirrors and windows, for example.

CLEANING SCHEDULE

Peterson's daily cleaning suggestions include making your bed and mopping the floors.

According to her, daily tasks should definitely include vacuuming any carpeted areas that receive heavy foot traffic and wiping down your countertops.

Lastly, cleaning your stovetop and replacing any dirty towels with fresh ones should certainly be handled on a daily basis.

WEEKLY CLEANING

Some of the chores that should be handled once a week include cleaning the microwave, toilet bowl, tub, shower floor, bathroom floors, and high-touch surfaces.

Vacuuming carpets and upholstered furniture, and changing the sheets on your bed are two other weekly household cleaning chores to keep up with.

Emptying your trashcan (if it’s full) and dusting any areas that have collected dirt should be done at least once a week also.

MONTHLY CHORES

There are plenty of chores around the house that don’t necessarily need to be handled more than once a month.

Some of those chores include cleaning your actual trashcan, dusting your baseboards, and cleaning out the inside of your dishwasher.

Deep cleaning your oven, deep cleaning your fridge, and descaling your coffeemaker are things you might want to incorporate into your monthly housecleaning schedule.
