Jimmy Buffett reschedules Jacksonville concert due to shoulder surgery

Jacksonville parrot heads will need to wait one more year until Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band come to town.

Jacksonville parrot heads will need to wait one more year until Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band come to town.

A statement released Tuesday announced that the 'Son of a Son of a Sailor High Tide Tour' originally scheduled to make a stop in Jacksonville on Dec. 10, 2019, will now be held on Dec. 8, 2020.

The reason for the cancellation is that Buffett has to get shoulder surgery and needs time to recover before he goes back on the road, according to Live Nation.

All tickets purchased for the original show will be honored on the new date. Fans who cannot attend the new date can get refunds at point of purchase.

In the release, Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band say they regret the postponement but look forward to partying in 2020 in Florida.

The trop-rock king is known for such hits like "Margaritaville," "Come Monday," and "Son of a Son of a Sailor." His music inspired a chain of restaurants (Margaritaville, Cheeseburger in Paradise) a retirement village and an upcoming Jacksonville Beach resort.
