GRAMMY award-winning sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar will be on stage at Bahrain National Theatre next week.
Her performance on October 16 is part of the 25th Bahrain International Music Festival being organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.
Ms Shankar is one of the leading figures in Indian classical and progressive world music.
As a crossover artist, she rose to international fame with her unique blend of traditional Indian music and wide array of other genres, including flamenco, jazz, electronica and Western classical music.
Her latest award-winning studio album titled Land of Gold was released this year and is inspired by the plight of refugees fleeing conflict and poverty to find their own ‘Land of Gold’ – a place of security, connectedness and tranquillity.
The performance will begin at 8pm and tickets are available from Virgin Megastore in City Centre Bahrain or online at https://tickets.virginmegastore.me/bh.
