Robins & Morton begin work on Florida healthcare project

Port Orange project

AdventHealth Port Orange Freestanding Emergency Department will be built in Port Orange, Fla.

Birmingham-based Robins & Morton construction will soon begin work on a freestanding emergency room in Florida.

The AdventHealth Port Orange Freestanding Emergency Department in Port Orange, Fla., will be an 18,400-square-foot, 24-bed facility with full imaging and laboratory services, a trauma room, bariatric room and two dedicated pediatric-friendly rooms. It is scheduled to open in 2021.

Robins & Morton will serve as the general contractor. The architect is Orlando-based HuntonBrady. The facility will operate as a department of AdventHealth Daytona Beach.

“We are pleased to add this ER to our network of care across Central Florida,” Ed Noseworthy, CEO of AdventHealth Daytona Beach, said. “The Port Orange area is growing fast, and we want to keep pace with the needs of the community. This ER will give residents an easy, convenient way to access emergency care when they need it most.”
