John Harrison Roddy, 95, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at his daughter's home in Flintville, Tn.
Mr. Roddy retired from Central Soya. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lorena Harding Roddy; his son, Richard D. "Mickey" Roddy; his parents, Elbert D. and Mary E. Holder Roddy; his sisters, Mae Donnelson, Jesse Lockaby, Ruby Nelson, Edith Drennon, Willie Roddy and Mildred Roddy; and his brothers, Ralph, Doug and Morris Roddy.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Dean Martin, of Flintville, Tn.; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Joan Roddy, of Chattanooga, Johnny and Debbie Roddy, of Soddy-Daisy and Michael and Sharon Roddy, of Soddy-Daisy; brother, Albert Roddy, of Cleveland, Tn.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Holder officiating. The interment will follow in Hamilton Count Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
