CASHION – Lynn Shackelford did his team no favors when creating its schedule this season.

Cashion's football team has one of the most difficult four-game stretches to begin the year of any Class A team. It opens at Owasso Rejoice Christian before hosting Perry and then playing Minco and Thomas to conclude its opening four games.

With not as deep of a district this year, Shackelford wanted to challenge his team early knowing it could pay off late.

"It's going to be a tough stretch, but we're going to find out a lot about ourselves," Shackelford said.

The Wildcats, which finished runner-up in Class A last season, return stars like junior quarterback Ben Harman, senior running back/linebacker Caden Harrell and senior wide receiver/defensive back Brexten Green.

Cashion will again be one of the favorites in Class A, and its early-season schedule could pay dividends come December.
