Indiana COVID-19: More than 20,000 fully vaccinated over past 24 hours; 1,243 new cases

Indiana reported 1,243 new COVID-19 cases and an additional 36 deaths. In the past 24 hours, 20,153 people have been reported to be fully vaccinated. An uptick in reported cases came as a result of the state onboarding data from an additional testing facility, 

Here are some other statistics of note:

  • Since the start of the pandemic: 666,516 COVID-19 cases in Indiana and 12,299 deaths.
  • State positivity rate (seven-day rate as of Feb. 27): For all tests performed, 3.2%.
  • How many people in Indiana hospitals with COVID-19: 663.
  • How many initial doses of vaccine administered: 1,112,590. Of those, 24,279 reported in past 24 hours.
  • How many fully vaccinated Hoosiers: 677,890. Of those, 20,153 were reported in past 24 hours.
  • Cases in Marion and surrounding counties: Marion (216), Hamilton (214), Hendricks (44), Johnson (42), Morgan (12), Hancock (23), Boone (47), Shelby (9).
  • Fully vaccinated individuals: Marion County – 77,312; Hamilton – 41,752; Hendricks – 19,153; Johnson – 16,175; Hancock – 10,209; Boone – 9,260; Morgan – 5,979; Shelby – 5,307.
