On the lower end of the spectrum, Hawkins County recorded 56 new cases, Carter County recorded 49, while Johnson and Unicoi County were the two lowest with 31 and 17 new cases respectively.

However, things are looking better for the region, as over the past seven days the region of Northeast Tennessee has recorded only 2,645 new cases. That number almost slices the previous seven-day statistic in half, with that number being 4,303 newly recorded cases.

The breakdowns of vaccination status per county in Northeast Tennessee also follow a similar pattern as seen before in the region with Washington Count having almost 53 percent of residents vaccinated, Sullivan and Unicoi County having just around 46 percent of the community vaccinated, and just over 40 percent of people in Greene County having been vaccinated.

Dropping into the 30 percent range, Hawkins County records that just over 37 percent of residents are vaccinated, while just under 34 percent of people in Carter County have been vaccinated and almost 33 percent of those in Johnson County have received the vaccine.

Deaths from Covid-19 are becoming less common in the area, as only four residents of Northeast Tennessee passed away on Friday. Breaking it down, no county had more than a single death, as Carter, Hawkins, Sullivan, and Washington County each only had one member of the community pass away from the virus.

Since the pandemic began, Northeast Tennessee has recorded 83,136 cases of Covid-19 and 1,341 deaths, while Carter County has seen 9,853 cases of the virus and 203 deaths.
