Ten restaurants that serve Italian, Asian and American cuisines will offer customers fixed price dinners and other specials for Hinsdale Restaurant Week, which runs from March 1 through March 8.

After the inaugural Hinsdale Restaurant Week in 2019, diners expressed great interest in lunch specials, in addition to special dinners, so they could enjoy more restaurants during the week, said Anna Martch, economic development and communications specialist for Hinsdale.

The participating restaurant owners responded accordingly and expanded specials to include dinner, lunch and breakfast, Martch said.

Sweet Ali’s Gluten Free Bakery, for example, is offering a savory individual chicken pot pie, two dinner rolls and a mega chocolate chip cookie packaged in an insulated reusable lunch bag all for the price of $12.

Customers can order the meal to go or eat it while inside the bakery, 13 W. First St., which only offers two small tables for dining.

Wild Ginger, an Asian and sushi restaurant at 44 S. Washington, will have a three-course dinner with a choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert for $25 a person.

Il Poggiolo, 8 E. First St., is offering a three-course prix fixe lunch for $15 a person, or a four-course dinner for $25. The dinner features a salad of arugula, artichokes and roasted peppers, a pasta, grilled salmon and tiramisu for dessert, officials said.

Each restaurant owner decides individually what menu and pricing to offer during Restaurant Week, but all the fixed price dinners are between $25 and $39, according to Martch.

“Our local restaurants have an excellent handle on what menu items will bring in local customers, as well as spark interest in new customers to try out their restaurant,” Martch said.

YiaYia’s Cafe, 13 Grant St., which is new to Restaurant Week this year, is offering a traditional Mexican dish, chilaquiles, plus cinnamon swirl French toast for breakfast or lunch.

YiaYias, which is within the Grant Square shopping center on the north side of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, is the only participating restaurant not in the heart of downtown Hinsdale.

Other restaurants with special deals for Restaurant Week include Altamura Pizza, Baldinelli Pizza, Giuliano’s Ristorante, Harry & Eddie’s, Nabuki and Vistro, which is closed on Sundays.
