New details have been released about Monday's police chase that ended with two people dead along Exit 14 in Crestwood.The male suspect has been identified as Ty'rell Pounds, 24, of Mansfield, Ohio. The female victim has been identified as Skylar Williams, 20, of Mansfield, Ohio.Ohio authorities confirmed that Pounds was the suspect in the abduction of Williams.A caller in Gallatin County reported seeing someone in distress at a gas station who was forced into a vehicle by a male and called police just before 3:30 p.m.Williams asked a customer for help at the gas station in Glencoe. "When she came in she didn't say it real loud, she just kind of moved her lips, she said 'help me'," Cowboys Food Stores clerk Kelly Mayhew said. Mayhew said Pounds prepaid for gas while Williams used the bathroom at the store. "Real quiet and he was kind of leading her to the bathroom," he said. The couple left the store, and Mayhew said Pounds noticed the customer on the phone with police. "He hurried out of the parking lot. I watched him going out and then he hopped on the interstate," he said. Police observed a vehicle traveling through Henry County that matched the caller's provided description. Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver fled.The pursuit continued on I-71 South into Oldham County and ended with Pounds and Williams being shot around 4 p.m. Monday on the Exit 14 ramp to Crestwood.Officials said that while attempting to apprehend Pounds, a trooper heard a gunshot inside the vehicle. The trooper drew his weapon, fired and hit Pounds.Pounds was pronounced dead the scene. Williams was transported to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.Investigators have not said who fired the shot that killed Williams. No officers were injured in the incident. Officials said no body camera video of the incident is available, as KSP and Oldham County authorities are not equipped with the technology. The investigation is ongoing.
