Bahrain players claimed the cream of titles in the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Meenumix GCC Open Badminton Tournament.
In the premier flight, Heri Setiwan beat Mohammed Munawer of the UAE 21-18, 18-21, 21-14 to win the singles title while Setiwan and Jaffar Ebrahim tamed Imam Adi Kusuma and Mohammed Munawer of the UAE 21-23, 21-11, 21-18 to claim the doubles crown.
Later, Setiwan completed a fine treble teaming with Jayashree S Nair to beat Mohammed Munawer and Teena Mary of the UAE 21-16, 21-14 to bag the mixed doubles title.
Over 300 players from five GCC countries - Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait and hosts Bahrain - took part in the four-day event during which competitions were held in 17 categories for boys, girls, men and women and veterans. The event carried a total prize money of $5,000.
Meenumix were the title sponsors while UAE Exchange and AMG were the main sponsors.
