One killed, one injured in two-car crash in Pike County, Ky.

VIRGIE, Ky. (WCHS/WVAH) — Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal two-car crash that killed one person and injured another.

Troopers said the crash happened about 2 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 23 at the mouth of Brush Fork in the community of Beefhide. Troopers said it was a head-on collision. A KSP accident reconstruction unit responded to the scene.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and another was flown to Pikeville Medical Center. The cause of the crash has not been determined.

Troopers will release additional details as they become available.
