Complications

All of these intervention procedures are associated with risks and side effects. A general complication includes failure of the procedure, infection, bleeding and neuritis. Special complications can apply to each procedure, such as weakness, paralysis associated with facet MNBB RFA, intradiscal procedures and DRG RFA. Deaffrentation pain, cuff leak, meningitis and intracranial hemorrhage can be associated with trigeminal ganglion and SPG RFA. The practioner has to weigh risk and benefits associated with each one of them, and explain to the patient the risks and side effects.
