Michigan woman accused of using barstool to assault family member

ALPENA COUNTY, MI – A Michigan woman is accused of attacking a relative with a barstool during a heated argument in Alpena County.

Ericka Lynn Hill, 30, of Lachine has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon after the incident which occurred at a residence on Bean Creek Road in Long Rapids Township at approximately 1:20 a.m. on May 2.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post responded to the domestic dispute, however, while in route to the scene they were informed the suspect had fled on foot.

Upon their arrival the victim met them outside and had dried blood on his face, but refused treatment, police said.

The victim alleged that Hill had assaulted him with a barstool during an argument before fleeing to a neighbor’s home. She was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Alpena County Jail.

Hill was arraigned Tuesday in the 88th District Court in Alpena. Her bond was at $50,000 and her next scheduled court appearance is at 2 p.m. on May 19.
