Werder Bremen boss insists Jonah Osabutey's loan move to OH Leuven will ignite his development

Werder Bremen sports director Frank Baumann believes the loan transfer for Jonah Osabutey to OH Leuven will explode his development.

Osabutey left the German Bundesliga side to join newly-promoted Belgian Jupilar Pro League side OH Leuven earlier this week.

It is the second time the Ghanaian forward has been shipped on loan after spending last season at Royal Mouscron.

He plundered five goals and four assists in 22 games and was named the club's Player of the Season.

According to Werder Bremen chief, Baumann, the switch could ignite the 21-year-old's blossoming development following his success in the league last term.

"The loan to Leuven is a good solution," said Werder sports director Frank Baumann in a club announcement. “Jonah has already developed well in Belgium last year . We hope that he can continue this positive path in the new team.

Osabutey joined Werder Bremen from Ghanaian side Tema Youth, but he is yet to make a breakthrough at the club.
