Metro Detroiters won’t have to travel far for their fried chicken sandwich fix in the near future. Chick-fil-A plans to open four restaurants.
MLive has been telling you about the Novi location slated to open sometime in 2020. Now we know the chicken chain is planning restaurants in Allen Park, Northville and Shelby Township.
No exact dates have been announced for the openings yet, but a Chick-fil-A spokesperson tells MLive the Allen Park spot will open first in January with the other three restaurants opening throughout 2020.
The new restaurants will add around 400 jobs to Metro Detroit. Each location will have double drive-thru lanes, indoor play areas and free Wi-Fi.
Each location will be locally owned by an individual operator who will oversee day-to-day activities of the business. “Chick-fil-A Operators come from a variety of career backgrounds and are entrepreneurs who live and work in the communities they serve,” said a Chick-fil-A, Inc. spokesperson.
Chick-fil-A opened its first stand alone restaurant in Michigan in Lansing in October 2016, the same month it also opened its Troy restaurant inside Somerset. There are also restaurants in Okemos, Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Holland and Portage. There are express restaurants at Oakland University, Eastern Michigan University, Detroit Metro Airport and the Detroit Medical Center.
