Donald Drinan, 87, died August 21 at his Northlake home of natural causes. Born March 14, 1918, on the family farm near Kinsman, IL, he worked the farm until his retirement in 1981. He lived in Dwight, IL, from 1997 through 2002 and was a resident of Casa San Carlo in Northlake, IL, at his death. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Drinan is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Dunn of Kinsman; sons Dan of Reno and Pat (Mary Ann Milkowski) of San Diego, CA, daughters Donna (Tom Underwood) and Mary Kay (Robert Nickels) of River Forest, IL; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A wake is planned at Hager Funeral Home in Dwight, IL, on Tuesday evening, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Dwight on August 24 at 10 a.m. Fr. James Rickey, Celebrant. Memorials may be donated to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kinsman, IL 60437, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dwight, IL 60420 and the Chapel at Villa Scallabrini at Northlake, IL 60164. A memorial service will be scheduled for Villa Scallabrini Chapel on Saturday, August 27, at 10 a.m.
