CT Reports Zero Coronavirus Deaths For First Time In 100+ Days

Connecticut reached a significant milestone Tuesday as no new COVID-19 deaths were reported.

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut on Tuesday reported no coronavirus deaths for the first time in more than 100 days.

March 17 was the last time the state had no coronavirus deaths; since then, there have been 4,338 deaths attributed to the virus.

State officials on Tuesday said coronavirus hospitalizations increased by a net of 14 patients. There are now 83 people hospitalized with the virus. The state has seen decreases in hospitalizations nearly every day since partway through May.

Gov. Ned Lamont warned last week not to expect the hospitalization rate to decrease indefinitely.

Positive coronavirus cases on Tuesday increased by 57 out of 5,745 people tested; the state maintained a positive test rate of around 1 percent.
