Wrangler NFR 2020 Back in Texas

Are y’all ready? The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) has a change of plans and is headed to Arlington, Texas on December 3-12, 2020! The home of the Texas Rangers, Globe Life Field will host the Wrangler NFR 2020. The event normally takes place at the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has been there since 1985 but due to coronavirus restrictions in Nevada, it is being moved to Texas.

The National Finals Rodeo was originally from Texas, starting in 1959. The first three years of the NFR was held at the Dallas State Fairgrounds, then the NFR moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the very first non-baseball event that will take place at this outstanding park.

There was a survey over the summer that was sent out and rodeo fans had said they want an NFR venue that would accommodate all the fans. The Globe Life Field can do just that. This venue is big enough to deliver the full NFR experience. After all, y’all are in Texas and everything is bigger in Texas! The chief operating officer of the Texas Rangers, Neil Leibman said, “ We are honored that the PRCA selected Globe Life Field to host the 2020 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and are thrilled to be a small part of bringing this world-class event back to Texas”.

The Wrangler NFR is a 10-day event which includes the PRCA National Convention, Benny Binion’s World Famous Wrangler NFR Bucking Horse Sale, the PRCA Awards Banquet and Gala, the Pro Rodeo League of Women Style Show and Luncheon, and of course, can’t forget, the ultimate fan favorite, Cowboy Christmas. Forth Worth, which is close by to Arlington will be holding the PRCA National Convention on November 30-December 3rd.

The Arlington Mayor, Jeff Williams stated, “From cattle drives, museums and even the names of our professional sporting teams, our love of cowboy culture runs deep here in Tarrant County. I can’t think of a better choice for the Super Bowl of rodeo than to be hosted here in the heart of North Texas. Arlington and Fort Worth have so many family-friendly attractions and rich experiences to offer rodeo fans who will be traveling from across the country to cheer on these professional cowboys as they strive to set new records and achieve their American Dream in the arena.”

Contact-limiting measures have been taken into place throughout the event such as mobile tickets. Important to note, seats will be sold in groups of four and there will be a separation in seating within the groups of four. There will be metal detector screenings upon entry as well as a no bag policy at entries on performance nights. It is important to stay up to date with the Texas Department of State Health Services and the CDC websites for any changes before the event.

The Globe Life Field officials have indicated that they are abiding by the health and safety standards. There will be hand washing and sanitizing stations throughout the building and masks will be required at all times while inside the Globe Life Field.

The public can purchase Wrangler NFR tickets starting on September 25, 2020, at texasrangers.com/NFR. Wrangler NFR Season Ticket holders can purchase tickets early on September 16, 2020. If you are unable to make the event don’t worry because the PRCA award ceremonies and Wrangler NFR events will be broadcasted on the Cowboy Channel. If you are a Cowboy Channel Plus app user then you will be able to stream live and recorded events. Hope everyone is ready for the Wrangler NFR 2020! We’ll see y’all in Texas!
