The Indian School and Bahrain Youth Team have reached the final of the CBA-BOC Inter-School Under-16 Cricket Tournament.
In the first semi-final, Indian School defeated New Millennium School by 18 runs. Batting first, Indian School piled up a huge total of 173 runs for the loss of three wickets. Vice-captain Rakshit Puppala top scored with 71 runs while opener Nihal Sunil contributed 33 and captain Anand Athreya made a quick-fire 24 off just 13 balls. New Millennium’s Arun Sairam took two wickets for 26 runs.
In reply, New Millennium School could score only 155 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Opener Jagan Vijaya Kumar scored 35 runs.
Meanwhile, Bahrain Youth Team beat Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School by 87 runs in the second semi-final. Bahrain Youth scored a huge total of 185 for six with the help of opener Ahmed Mohammed Saqlain’s 53 and Ali Haider’s 45 off 24 balls. Ibn Al Hytham’s Abdul Basit Zahid took two wickets for 13 runs.
Ibn Al Hytham were bowled out for just 98 runs in reply. Bahrain Youth’s Mohammed Abdullah Ashiq claimed three wickets for just seven runs while captain Subhan Mohammed and vice-captain Dawood Khawaja Nasir took two wickets each.
The final will be played on 6 February at Bahrain National stadium.
