'We Have It Made' Trump Tells Supporters At Rome Airport: Replay

President Trump expressed confidence that a victory in Georgia is all but assured during a Sunday night rally.

ROME, GA — President Donald Trump was in Georgia Sunday night campaigning for re-election with a rally at the Richard B. Russell Airport in Rome.

Trump expressed confidence that he already has victory in Georgia assured as he campaigns in the newly competitive battleground two days before Election Day.

The president told thousands of supporters at a rally in northwestern Georgia that his aides told him he had the state “made.”

The state, like much of the country, has seen record turnout in early voting, as Democrats aim to capture demographic changes to find a new pathway to the presidency through the state. Trump is wagering on a wave of Republican votes at the polls Tuesday to help him overcome Democratic advantages in early voting.

“Wait until you see what’s going to happen with the great red wave,” Trump said during the Rome rally.

Georgia is expected to be among the closest presidential state races once votes begin to be counted Tuesday night. Former Vice President Joe Biden is ahead in the state by less than 1 percentage point, according to the RealClearPolitics poll average.

The state hasn't voted Democratic in the presidential election since 1992, when Bill Clinton defeated incumbent George H.W. Bush.

The Biden campaign was also looking to sway Georgia voters on Sunday.

Vice presidential hopeful Kamala Harris was in the Atlanta area earlier in the day. The first Black woman on a major party’s presidential ticket, she encouraged a racially diverse crowd in a rapidly growing Atlanta suburb to “honor the ancestors” by voting, invoking the memory of the late civil rights legend, longtime Rep. John Lewis.
