Metro police reported Catalan’s 2021 Buick Verano was travelling at a high rate of speed when it hit the guard rail on the bridge over Mill Creek and flipped down into the water.

The Buick landed upside down in the water and Catalan was recovered from the vehicle.

Crash investigators determined there was alcohol involved at the scene. Catalan was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected through the Buick’s sunroof.

The roadway reopened to traffic around 6:30 a.m.

Catalan was the only occupant of the vehicle, and medical examiners will complete toxicology to help determine the cause of this crash.
