Two injured in grenade attack in Jammu & Kashmir’s Doda

Panic gripped on Monday afternoon when some unidentified persons hurled a grenade outside district police lines (DPL) resulting into one policeman and a civilian injured in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources said that one of the SOG jawan was injured in this grenade attack, he was immediately taken to district hospital in Doda, his condition is stated to be out of danger.
JAMMU: Panic gripped on Monday afternoon when some unidentified persons hurled a grenade outside district police lines (DPL) resulting into one policeman and a civilian injured in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
District Doda was declared militancy free on June 29, 2020 after the security forces neutralized Top Hizb commander Masood alias Rahi in Anantang during a fierce encounter.

"Today, at around 4:30pm suspected terrorists hurled a grenade attack on a private building opposite to the district police line (DPL) gate while two SOG (special operation group) of J&K Police jawans were on duty," sources said.
Sources said that one of the SOG jawan was injured in this grenade attack, he was immediately taken to district hospital in Doda, his condition is stated to be out of danger.
Meanwhile police, CRPF, SOG and Army have cordoned the whole area and massive searches are on to trace the suspects involved in the area.
Confirming the attack, police said, “Some unknown persons lobbed a grenade outside DPL this afternoon. Two persons including constable of special operation group and a civilian have suffered minor injuries.”
The elimination of top Hizbul commander Masood alias Rahi in an operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag, along with two other terrorists the Doda District was declared militancy free on June 29, 2020.

Referring to elimination of Top HM Commander (Rahi), J&K DGP Dilbagh Singh had claimed on that day that with today's operation at Khull Chohar Anantnag by Anantnag Police along with local RR unit in which two LET terrorists including one district commander and one HM commander Masood were neutralised. Doda district in Jammu zone becomes totally militancy free once again as Masood was last surviving terrorist of Doda district."
The slain terrorist, Masood, studied up to Class 8 and picked up arms in 2018, months after he was accused of raping a minor in Doda. He went absconding ever since and later joined Hizbul Mujahideen and shifted his area of operation to Kashmir. His real brother Farooq Ahmad is a terrorist in Pakistan since 1999.
