Raquel Rosa, 92, of Bristol, passed peacefully early Monday morning, January 13, 2020. Raquel was born on April 10, 1927 in New York, NY one of ten children to the late Rafael and Monserrat (Castillo) Ramirez. While in Bristol, Raquel worked for a time with Jewels by Stanley until working for SNET. She loved music and dancing and was a longtime member of the Patient’s Advisory Board at Sheriden Woods. She leaves her son, Pete Rosa and his wife Pamela G. Rosa of Avon and her daughter Blanca Alves of Bristol; brother Alonzo “Al” Ramirez of NY,NY; grandchildren David Alves, Kimberly Gionfriddo and Peter Rosa, III; great grandchildren Rachel and Rebecca Gionfriddo as well as Matthew, Kyle and Kate Rosa; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ralph, John, Mario, Martin and Henry, sisters Carmen Rivera, Pauline Diaz and Lucy Aponte. Calling hour will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
