Mariela was just 19-years-old when she decided to get a 'little liposuction' while visiting family in Peru - but was horrified to wake up having also had a nose job
A WOMAN who had liposuction as a teenager has recalled the horror of waking up from surgery and realising she had also had a nose job too.
Mariela, 41, was bullied for years about her weight and decided to have a "little liposuction" on her stomach while visiting family in Peru when she was just 19 years old.
Appearing on the E! reality series Botched, Mariela recalled: "I went in for liposuction and I woke up with a new nose."
Revealing how her nasal passages had been severely damaged during the cosmetic procedure, Mariela claims the doctor justified his actions by saying he'd done her a "favour".
Explaining why she'd decided to go under the knife at such a young age, Mariela said: "Growing up was hard.
"I was always a little chubby. I was bulled in school for that."
During a family trip to Peru, Mariela decided to have a "little liposuction" on her stomach to put an end to cruel taunts once and for all.
She added: "I met with the doctor the day after I arrived and it was a very famous doctor. He was like the Beverly Hills doctor of Peru.
"When I talked to him and explained what I wanted, he said it was really easy and he could do it the next day."
But what should have been a routine procedure became a living nightmare for Mariela when she woke up to find he had also performed a rhinoplasty too.
She recalled: "When I woke up, I had a cast over my nose. Right after the surgery I saw the doctor and he said 'I did it as a favour'. I was p*****d"
Although Mariela had always struggled with her weight, she added: "I had absolutely no issues with my nose before the surgery.
"It was the nose I was born with and I liked it."
At first, Mariela admits she "didn't know how bad the damage was because I still had the cast on".
Meanwhile, the doctor continued to assure her that it was "just swollen" and "it will look great".
Unfornately for Mariela, she confessed: "When the bandages came off, what I saw horrified me."
