RUTLAND -- Two Pioneer Valley municipal leaders are among five finalists for the position of town administrator in Rutland.

Southampton Town Administrator Heather Budrewicz and Sunderland Town Administrator Margaret Nartowicz made the cut and will be interviewed, according to the Landmark newspaper, which serves the central Massachusetts region.

Budrewicz and Nartowicz rose to the top during the second round of applications, after Rutland officials and Somerset Town Administrator Dennis Luttrell failed to reach a contract agreement.

The search was conducted by the Edward J. Collins, Jr. Center for Public Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

The Rutland select board has anticipated an annual salary of $93,800, according to the Telegram & Gazette of Worcester.

Other finalists are Doug Willardson, assistant town administrator in Grafton, Vt., Carter Terenzini, town administrator in Moultonborough, N.H.; Brian Redshaw, city administrator of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.

The town of Rutland, with a population of 8,700, is 13 miles northwest of Worcester.

The Rutland select board will conduct interviews over the next two weeks.
