Long Island Nets Wants Fans To Design Team's First Mascot
Fans have through May to submit a design for consideration.
The Long Island Nets are looking to their fans to create the team’s first-ever mascot. Fans are invited to design and submit mascot concepts that represent what it means to be a Long Islander and that reflect the team’s values of loyalty, aspiration and legacy.
The mascot will serve as a Long Island Nets brand ambassador both on and off the court, beginning in the 2018-19 season. The team’s brand ambassador will bring entertainment and energy to the crowd at home games and will be active in the community, attending school events, hospital visits, basketball clinics, and more.
“Our new team mascot will play an important role in bringing a greater team presence into the community,” said Alton Byrd, vice president of business operations for the Nets. “We want our mascot to embody the essence of Long Island and we believe that the best way to do that is to ask for creative input from our fans.”
