Vehicle hits man in Panama City Beach

PANAMA CITY BEACH — A man is in critical condition after a vehicle struck him in Panama City Beach early Sunday morning.

According to the Panama City Beach Police Department, the South Carolina man sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Ascension Sacred Heart Bay hospital.

The victim was crossing South Thomas Drive from the south shoulder around 3:05 a.m. when he was hit by a 2017 white Low Speed Vehicle that was traveling westbound on South Thomas Drive in the area of Sunbird Condo at 9850 South Thomas Drive. 

The case is under investigation by the department’s traffic homicide unit.
