Joan D. McKinley Oct. 9, 1947~Sept. 13, 2019 Joan D. McKinley, 71, of Greeley, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019.
Joan was born Oct. 9, 1947, in Cheyenne, Wyo. to Vern and Florence (Wills) Haggard. She was the youngest of five children. She moved with her family to Greeley in 1952 where she attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated in 1965 from Greeley High (now Greeley Central).
She married Lyle Achziger in 1967 and they adopted Tamera Jean in 1974. They later divorced. In Aug. of 1984 she married Mark McKinley. They celebrated 35 years of marriage this year.
Mrs. McKinley worked for Colorado Pipelines for a number of years. She then went on to become a Personal Banker, retiring from Wells Fargo in Jan. of 2003 after 25 years of service.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she served on several committees and boards including being Sunday School Superintendent.
She is survived by her husband, Mark of Greeley; daughter, Tamera Mayo; and granddaughter, Molly of Greeley; step-daughter, Shawna (Mark) Nelson; and granddaughters, Morgan and Madison of Kremmling; sister, Sharee Wichmann of Arvada; brothers, Ken Haggard of Lincoln, Neb. and Ron Haggard of Grand Junction; and numerous nieces/great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by both her parents; sister, Carol Luark; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Ave., Greeley. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 28th St., Greeley. Friends and family may visit from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at Stoddard Funeral Home.
