SUV Collides With School Bus, 1 Dead

Police said the SUV crossed over the double-yellow line.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — An SUV collided with a school bus Monday in Sullivan County resulting in one death. Authorities said the SUV was going west around 7:45 a.m. on Route 52 near the Liberty and Fallsburg town line when it traveled over the double-yellow line and hit the school bus coming from the opposite direction.

The SUV's driver was killed, and the bus driver received a minor shoulder injury, the Times Herald-Record reported.

Rolling V Bus Corporation owns the bus which was not carrying students at the time.

Prior to the accident, the bus had dropped off all passengers in Liberty, the Daily Voice said.

The name of the person who was killed has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
