Jefferson County Averaging 146 New Coronavirus Cases Last 2 Weeks

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — With COVID-19 cases again increasing across the country, Jefferson County has kept its daily number of new cases under 200 over the last two weeks, averaging 146 cases during that time.

The county also has reported 21 deaths from COVID-19 over the last 14 days. The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 20,472 new COVID-19 cases over the last two weeks, an increase over 14-day totals seen last month, when the state was averaging fewer than 800 cases per day.

Over the last 14 days, the number of new COVID-19 cases and deaths reported in Jefferson County:

  • Oct. 16: 133 new cases, 7 deaths

  • Oct. 17: 164 new cases, 1 death

  • Oct. 18: 106 new cases, 0 deaths

  • Oct. 19: 100 new cases, 0 deaths

  • Oct. 20: 163 new cases, 0 deaths

  • Oct. 21: 157 new cases, 2 deaths

  • Oct. 22: 141 new cases, 0 deaths

  • Oct. 23: 127 new cases, 1 death

  • Oct. 24: 141 new cases, 2 deaths

  • Oct. 25: 163 new cases, 0 deaths

  • Oct. 26: 151 new cases, 0 deaths

  • Oct. 27: 130 new cases, 0 deaths

  • Oct. 28: 196 new cases, 6 deaths

  • Oct. 29: 171 new cases, 2 deaths
