New bakery cooking in Mobile

Investors paid $675,000 for a 10,700-square-foot warehouse at 33981 Ala. 59 in Loxley, according to Joe Steen Real Estate & Development, who represented the seller. Michael Taylor of Headwater Holdings worked for the buyer. The building is leased.

National Tire Wholesale has leased 64,000 square feet of warehouse space at 250 Jacintoport Blvd. in the Mobile River Industrial Park in Saraland, according to David Dexter of NAI Mobile, who represented the landlord. Mitchum Jackson of Heggeman Realty worked for the tenant.

Guncles Gluten Free Bakery has leased a 1,590-square-foot former restaurant building at 1252 Government St., in Midtown Mobile, according to James Henderson of Realty Executives Bay Group in Saraland, who handled the transaction. The bakery owners operate a distribution bakery in Spanish Fort. Guncles uses gluten free ingredients for its baked goods.

Caribe Resort developer Larry Wireman is looking to add two more condominium towers to his complex on Perdido Beach Boulevard near Perdido Pass in Orange Beach. Plans call for Caribe East to have 228 units in a 24-story tower while Caribe West would have 252 units in a 25-story tower, according to city records. The new buildings would have three- and five-bedroom units. There are 600 existing units in Caribe.

Watch for Summer Salt, a residential community planned on acreage behind Doc’s Seafood & Steaks and north of The Ruby Slipper Cafe off Perdido Beach Boulevard in Orange Beach. The first phase at the north end of Summer Salt Plaza Boulevard would have 54 single family lots and 58 cottage lots on 42 acres. A second phase on 21 acres will feature 52 home lots and 31 cottage lots.
