2024 Stanley Cup odds favorites

Colorado Avalanche ()

Colorado's chance of repeating as Stanley Cup champions was snuffed out by the surprising Seattle Kraken in round one of the '23 playoffs. That hasn't slowed them down, as they have been Stanley Cup favorites since the offseason. The young talented core of Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Mikko Rantanen are shining once again. The window for the Avalanche remains wide open.

Vegas Golden Knights ()

The Golden Knights brought home the Stanley Cup just six years into the franchise's history. Winning is all Knights fans know, as their team has been to the Cup finals in 33% of its seasons. Vegas looked dominant in its victory over the Florida Panthers, and there's no reason to think a repeat is out of the question. The Golden Knights have seen their odds dip lately, but we expect that to change down the stretch when it's time to gear up for the playoffs.

Boston Bruins ()

It was a catastrophic ending for the team that recorded the best record in NHL history. The Bruins and their stacked roster were punted in round one by the future Stanley Cup finalist Florida Panthers.

Boston has lost some of its personnel from last season but hasn't taken its foot off the gas. The B's currently have the most points in the Eastern Conference thanks to great goaltending and another dazzling season from right winger David Pastrnak, who has already tallied 80 points.

Teams to keep an eye on

Florida Panthers ()

After shocking the world with a first-round upset over a historic Boston Bruins team, the Panthers made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals before running out of gas against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Panthers were sluggish out of the gate this year but have turned on the gas recently. They now sit just one point back of the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference. You can still get enticing odds for Florida, but that might not last long.

New Jersey Devils ()

The New Jersey Devils shattered expectations in the 2022-23 season, improving by a whopping 49 points from their previous campaign. To top it off, they even won a playoff round against the rival Rangers before their eventual elimination by the Carolina Hurricanes.

Center Jack Hughes was on a historic pace this season before injuries derailed him. He's back looking like his old self again, and we wouldn't count the Devils out of a second half charge.

New York Rangers ()

The Rangers had a disappointing first-round exit at the hands of the New Jersey Devils but are off to a great start through 55 games this season. New York sits near the top of the Eastern Conference, just two points behind the Bruins.

Peter Laviolette has been named new bench boss, and he brings his Stanley Cup pedigree with him. Laviolette is just the fourth coach in NHL history to take three separate teams to the Stanley Cup Finals, winning with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006.
