A Lamborghini driver has been charged with being part of an alleged cocaine syndicate operating on Australia's east coast.

Joshua Peter Moore is one of five people who were arrested on Friday as part of an alleged drug trafficking ring, after a police raid uncovered 2.1kg of cocaine, $1.15m in cash, luxury cars, $800,000 worth of designer watches, a jet ski and a cash counting machine.

Queensland police value the drugs seized as having a street value of $655,000. They have also seized property worth $2m which is suspected of being proceeds of crime

Mr Moore and a one of his co-accused, Daniel Jung-Hyun Cho, appeared before  Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.

Mr Cho applied for bail, but it was denied due to the seriousness of the charges. Mr Cho is set to appear in court again on December 16.

Mr Moore did not apply for bail and is set to return to court on November 11.

Federal and Queensland police earlier this year identified a southeast Queensland syndicate allegedly trafficking cocaine into the region from Sydney.

On Friday, November 5, officers from the Australian Federal Police and Queensland Police Service intercepted a van on the Gold Coast Highway at Bilinga that was suspected of being used for a drug run.

Police allege about 1kg of cocaine, worth $380,000, was hidden inside two cryovac bags submerged inside a paint tin.

A 30-year-old Brisbane man and a 37-year-old Gold Coast man were arrested and charged with multiple offences.

Two more Gold Coast men were arrested on November 5 and 6 and a fifth man was arrested on the Gold Coast on November 7.

AFP Detective Inspector Scott Curtis said the investigation is ongoing and warned the community that law enforcement officers were on high alert for drug offences with Schoolies activities about to start.

'As police, we know better than most the significant and heartbreaking impact that illegal drugs have on individuals, families and whole communities - especially at this time of the year,' he said.

'We believe that this seizure of cocaine worth nearly $400,000 would have been circulating throughout southeast Queensland as the Class of 2021 started celebrating Schoolies and other end-of-school events.'

Detective Superintendent Colin Briggs said the arrests showed how a multi-agency approach was effective in disrupting criminal networks.

'These joint agency taskforces have been established to inflict maximum damage to the criminals who seek to line their own pockets by bringing illicit and dangerous substances into Australia,' he said.

'By stopping these illegal drugs from hitting the streets, we are protecting Australians from the terrible community and social harm caused by drug abuse and taking money away from the criminal networks who feed on greed, profits, and harm to the community.'

The men collectively face dozens of charges, including trafficking and possessing a dangerous drug, and face jail terms of up to 25 years.

For Mr Moore, his remand cell is a sharp fall from the lifestyle he has keenly documented on social media.

His old life included driving a Lamborghini, drinking cocktails in a pool and foreign travel to Dubai (where he hired a luxury sports car) and the Greek islands.
