Mel and Marty Trudell began to manufacture their own mattresses in Orange County in the 1980s and opened their first store in Santa Ana. It is direct sales from manufacturer to customer, and prices include the box spring, mattress, frame and delivery.

Inside scoop: “We’ve just unveiled a second generation of body diagnostics, a bed that has thousands of sensors and measures the pressure points in the body. … (It prescribes) the exact firmness that’s best for each person.
