Grand Avenue Preschool in Western Springs will host an open house on Saturday, November 9 from 10 am-Noon. The open house gives parents the opportunity to meet teachers, tour the large, sunny classrooms and learn more about the curriculum. Grand Avenue’s program focuses on the development of the whole child, fully preparing them academically, socially and emotionally for their elementary education years.

For 38 years, parents have trusted Grand Avenue Preschools as the important first step in their child’s education. Grand Avenue strives to nurture self-esteem and independence in each child and to set the stage for future learning through a positive first experience at school. In addition to social and emotional development, curriculum at Grand Avenue also includes math, language arts, natural sciences, music, art and fine/gross motor stimulation.

Grand Avenue directors also keep in regular contact with local area grade schools to use the same teaching tools as they do, including Jolly Phonics© and Handwriting without Tears© to ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten. Their program is aligned with the Illinois Early Learning and Development standards, developed by the Illinois State Board of Education. Grand Avenue is also the only preschool in the area that is nationally accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA).
