Son Charged In Deaths Of Missing Bradley Univ. Professor, Husband

21-year-old Jose Ramirez, of Princeville, is charged with first-degree murder, Peoria County Sheriff's Office reported.

PEORIA, IL β€” A Bradley University professor and her husband reported missing Sunday from their Princeville home are dead, and two arrests have been made in connection with their deaths, according to the Peoria County Sheriff's Office. Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell announced Monday 21-year-old Jose Ramirez, of Princeville, is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in the deaths of Susan Brill de Ramirez and Antonio Ramirez Barro, both 63. Ramirez is the couple's son, according to several reports.

According to authorities, 21-year-old Matthew Roberts, also of Princeville, is charged with obstruction of justice and concealment of a homicidal death.

The couple was reported missing at 10 p.m. Sunday, three days after they last reported to work, when the sheriff's office responded to a call from a family member who reported a suspected burglary at the couple's home, located at 22918 North Maher road, Asbell said. Upon arrival, there was obvious blood evidence inside the house, according to Asbell, who also said the arrests were based on a confession.

The couple's bodies are believed to be somewhere in rural Henry County, according to Asbell, and the sheriff's department is working with the Department of Natural Resources and the Henry County Sheriff's Office to find the bodies.
