Over the Fourth of July weekend from July 2 to July 5, 610 calls-for-service were placed to law enforcement dispatchers in Becker County and Detroit Lakes, including 15 calls concerning fireworks. Comparatively, over Memorial Day weekend from May 28 to May 31, 417 calls-for-service were placed to local dispatchers, which represents a 32% increase in call volume over the July 4th weekend compared to Memorial Day weekend.

Thursday, July 1

8:12 a.m., 17000 block South Blueberry Road, Menahga, boat tampering. Caller believes someone is tampering with their boat after a mechanic found sand in the gas tank. They will set up trail cameras.

9:53 a.m., 100 block Wisconsin Street, Callaway, vehicle recovered.

1:32 p.m., 23000 block County Road 47, Osage, garage fire. Garage is attached to the house with a pickup truck and lawn mowers inside. Fire extinguished in one hour by Carsonville and Park Rapids firefighters.

10:55 p.m., 1100 block Garnet Boulevard, Detroit Lakes, bicycle found.

Friday, July 2

6:52 a.m., 200 block Dakota Street, Callaway, physical domestic incident. No medical attention needed. Case is under investigation by the White Earth Police Department.

12:07 p.m., 24000 block 310th Street, Callaway, personal items stolen by roommate.

1:58 p.m., 800 block Summit Avenue, Detroit Lakes, scam. $100 sent to scammers.

3:13 p.m., near Rossman Avenue and West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damaged.

3:59 p.m., near mile marker 49 of Highway 34, Becker County, single-vehicle crash. One arrest made for suspected DWI.

4:10 p.m., 300 block 11th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, suspected drug dealing in the neighborhood.

4:27 p.m., 15000 block North Munson Lane, mail scam involving Social Security.

5:21 p.m., 22000 block County Road 47, Osage, windows broken on a trailer home.

7:33 p.m., near Rattlesnake Circle, Waubun, suspected drug possession.

10:08 p.m., 35000 block 325th Avenue, Ogema, overdose involving pills. Victim taken to medical clinic for treatment.

Saturday, July 3

12:02 a.m., 200 block Court Lane, Detroit Lakes, fireworks.

1:14 a.m., 400 block Shorewood Drive, Detroit Lakes, fireworks.

9:56 a.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, vehicle backed into another vehicle. No injuries reported.

4:36 p.m., near Big Cormorant Lake, Cormorant, watercraft operating within 150 feet of shoreline.

6:12 p.m., 2200 block Clark Gable Road, Detroit Lakes, loud, inappropriate music being played on a boat. Boat occupants appeared to be drinking.

6:18 p.m., 37000 block south west Height of Land Drive, Rochert, mailbox damaged by a vehicle.

7:08 p.m., Becker County, physical domestic incident. No medical attention needed. Victim refused to give an official statement.

8:04 p.m., near Detroit Lakes, Detroit Lakes, pontoon stranded on a sandbar. Boat was dislodged. No damage.

8:27 p.m., 20000 block County Road 22, Detroit Lakes, fireworks.

9:44 p.m. to 10:17 p.m., Detroit Lake, Detroit Lakes, two citations for no visible registration and seven citations for after-hours use violations of a personal craft.

9:54 p.m., 500 block East Main Avenue, Frazee, fireworks.

10:18 p.m., near Shorewood Drive and Bay Ridge Drive, Detroit Lakes, grass fire in a roadside ditch. Fire extinguished in five minutes.

10:29 p.m., 27000 block County Road 141, Detroit Lakes, physical domestic incident. No medical attention needed. One arrest was made.

10:49 p.m., 500 block Jennifer Street, Audubon, fireworks.

11:38 p.m., near Cormorant Beach Road and County Road 5, Lake Park, fire in a roadside ditch. Extinguished before first responders arrived.

2:10 p.m., 14000 block Dan Erickson Road, Lake Park, two personal watercraft involved in a collision. A 57-year-old female rider of one of personal watercraft suffered back, leg and arm injuries and was transported to Sanford Medical Clinic in Fargo.

2:43 p.m., 36000 block County Road 150, Frazee, round baler on fire.

3:40 p.m., 14000 block Dahlgren Beach Road, Lake Park, fireworks.

5:45 p.m., 28000 block County Road 129, Ponsford, suicidal threats involving pills.

6:19 p.m., 26000 block Rattlesnake Circle, Waubun, possible counterfeit $100 bill.

6:33 p.m., near Big Sugar Bush Lake, boat registration not displayed.

6:36 p.m., near Bad Medicine Lake, Becker County, boat registration not displayed.

7:02 p.m., 26000 block Rattlesnake Circle, Waubun, fake $100 bill passed.

7:16 p.m., at Lakeshirts at 110 West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

9:14 p.m., 400 block West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, two individuals suspected of smoking marijuana in a vehicle; unable to locate.

9:43 p.m., 14000 block Victory Lane, Lake Park, tree fire. Fire was out.

10:40 p.m., 600 block West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, fireworks being set off across the road from City Beach. The firing tube fell over and shot an errant firework into the City Beach crowd. A juvenile male suffered minor injuries and an adult female suffered burns to her leg. One arrest was made.

11:05 p.m., 100 block Shorewood Drive, Detroit Lakes, fireworks.

11:12 p.m., 31000 block South Eagle Lake Road, Frazee, small fire. Fire extinguished by Frazee firefighters.

11:16 p.m., 100 block Roosevelt Avenue, Detroit Lakes, truck broken into. Mobile phone stolen.

11:38 p.m., near Detroit Lake, Detroit Lakes, boat disabled. Owner said they will anchor and pick it up tomorrow.

2:12 a.m., 1000 block South Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes, possible inappropriate sexual conduct involving a juvenile.

7:33 a.m., 1500 block Lynn Avenue, Detroit Lakes, flower pot stolen from a residence.

7:34 a.m., 100 block Meadow Lane, Detroit Lakes, rent payment drop box broken into.

9:40 a.m., 28000 block County Road 129, Ponsford, window broken at a residence.

9:44 a.m., 200 block Long Lake Lane, Detroit Lakes, three bicycles stolen valued at $1,500. Two of the bikes were recovered.

11:29 a.m., near Highway 59 and River Hills Lane, Detroit Lakes, motor vehicle crash with minor injuries reported. EMS was dispatched to the scene.

11:44 a.m., 900 block 8th Street, Detroit Lakes, drug paraphernalia found.

11:52 a.m., near the gravel pit, west of Two Inlets on Highway 44, Ponsford, 57 weight bags used in pipeline construction cut open. Each bag is valued at $600.

12:16 p.m., 11000 block County Road 5, Pelican Rapids, grass fire.

2:08 p.m., 16000 block North Leaf Lake Road, Lake Park, abandoned boat in the cat tails.

3:08 p.m., 400 block Woodcrest Boulevard, Detroit Lakes, two flower pots stolen from a residence.

3:16 p.m., near Eagle Lake, Frazee, man suspected of exposing himself on a public boat ramp.

6:17 p.m., 1000 block Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes, juvenile male runaway.

8:21 p.m., 28000 block Waboose Drive, Ponsford, an 8-year-old girl assaulted a 6-year-old girl with a stick. No official action needed by law enforcement, but the parent does want the other parent’s talked to.

9:07 p.m., 30000 block County Road 35, Ponsford, wallet stolen.

10:08 p.m., 39000 block County Road 34, Ogema, fire. Reported under control.

11:14 p.m., 600 block South Lake Street, Frazee, fireworks.

Tuesday, July 6

7:21 a.m., 1200 block 8th Street, Detroit Lakes, vehicle door found open. Items inside the vehicle were broken.

1:36 p.m., 1000 block 1st Street, Lake Park, house guest stole a pellet gun and night vision scope from the caller’s residence.

4:14 p.m., near Highway 6 and Highway 59, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash with injuries . A 63-year-old Fargo man was transported to a nearby medical clinic with injuries that were not life threatening.

4:36 p.m., 1200 block Richwood Road, Detroit Lakes, debit card theft. Card was used multiple times before it was canceled.

Wednesday, July 7

12:43 a.m., 37000 block 140th Avenue, Ulen, fireworks.

1:08 a.m., Detroit Lakes, sexual conduct. The case is under investigation.

8:31 a.m., at Dairy Queen at 900 McKinley Avenue, Detroit Lakes, multiple city-owned trees damaged in the parking lot.

10:52 a.m., 100 block East Holmes Street, Detroit Lakes, online loan scam. The caller reported losing nearly $2,000.

2:30 p.m., 100 block East Holmes Street, Detroit Lakes, bank envelope lost. Nearly $500 was in the envelope.

4:43 p.m., near Washington Avenue and Willow Street, Detroit Lakes, a motorcycle and a vehicle collided. The rider reported knee pain, but no medical attention was needed.

6:00 p.m., at the Boys and Girls Club Thrift Store at 1305 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, mobile phone stolen from a vehicle in the parking lot.
