YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — York County deputies are investigating a shooting that left one person injured Tuesday night.
Emergency communications received a call around 9:32 p.m. for a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Tam-O-Shanter Boulevard. Witnesses on scene told deputies that two males had been shooting at each other at the Country Club Apartments.
The victim, a 54-year-old from Hampton, drove himself away from the scene and was later transported to a hospital. He was treated and released.
Just before 8:30 a.m., almost 11 hours after the shooting, deputies took the other man, 21-year-old Elliot Darnell White, into custody without incident at a nearby apartment. He’s facing five felony charges, including malicious shooting and possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon.
