Rowing Opportunities Abound

Rowing Opportunities Abound

Summer is coming and with it the opportunity to try something new.

Concord Crew, in association with US Rowing, will be hosting a free Learn to Row day on National Learn to Row Day, June 1st from 09:00 am to 1:00 pm. Come tour our boat house, speak to our coaches, rowers and board members. Try out a rowing machine and go out on the Merrimack with our experienced rowers and coxswains. Concord Crew's boathouse is at 15 Loudon, Rd behind the Everett Arena. No appointment necessary, middle to high school age athletes and parents, just stop by the boathouse.

Concord Crew also offers two month long sessions of Learn to Row during the summer.

The Concord Crew Summer Learn to Row offer a wonderful opportunity for new rowers to learn the basics of rowing. The program is skill-based, instructional, and provides the perfect opportunity to try out a new sport, learn a new skill and make new friends. For those new to rowing, our Learn-to-Row will allow you to experience the teamwork of sweep oar rowing – you don’t need experience and it isn’t physically intensive. Attendees can expect some light land work: rowing on rowing machines and maybe some light conditioning exercises. The bulk of each day will be learning the basics of sweep oar rowing and teamwork while out on the Merrimack river with your peers and coaches.

Summer Learn to Row is open to all youth athletes, grades seven to twelve. Registration is managed by Concord Parks and Rec
