Based upon my experience with the U.S. Postal Service, I feel compelled to express my discontent. I understand that the Postal Service is undergoing tough times with COVID-19 and the increases in package delivery. I also acknowledge that our letter carrier is very punctual and efficient.

A delay of receipt of payment equals overdue/late charges, which impacts credit rating. Check tracking on bank accounts indicated payments not received, three weeks after they were mailed.

Here’s a precise example. I sent a Christmas card, with gift enclosed, on Dec. 17. It wasn’t received until Jan. 4. The tracking on that card indicates it was postmarked in Macon, Georgia on Dec. 24.

For those counting, that’s 18 days for the round trip. But really the best yet is, the mailer and the recipient are within the same ZIP code, 10 minutes apart by car. Why did the letter go to Macon, Georgia, when I’m sure there are other major mail hubs much closer?
