James S. Young, 91 of Troy, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2019 at his home in Troy.
James was born on January 30, 1928 in Hillsboro, IL; the son of the late Harold D. and Ruth E. (Green) Young. James was a truck driver for Bunn Capital for over 30 years and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. In his free time James loved to collect clocks and had countless clocks in his home. Most of all James loved his family and he will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
James is survived by and will be missed by his children; Deborah (Jeff) Myers of Troy, IL, Tina (Gary) Halbert of Troy, IL, Jamie (Brad) Stanek of Troy, IL, Dan (Sandra) Young of Troy, IL, Nancy Young of Williamsville, IL, James R. Young of Williamsville, IL, Mike Young (Vickie Ray) of Riverton, IL, Barb Green of Troy, IL, Bill McClain (Jennifer Smith) of Lebanon, TN, Linda (Keith) Steele of Pocahontas, IL; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers; 4 sisters and a special friend, Darlene Loyet.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife; Henrietta (Rensman) Young and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. In celebration of James life, services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Charles West officiating. Burial will follow with full military rites at Friedens Cemetery in Troy. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
