All five schools in the Wantagh School District have been disinfected after several students came down with a stomach virus.

Officials say high school students began experiencing symptoms on Friday evening.

According to officials, all five buildings in the district were cleaned over the weekend as a precaution.

The district says the Nassau Health Department is monitoring the situation.

Students who feel ill are asked to stay home for at least 24 hours after symptoms are gone.
