NH reports 3 deaths, 547 new COVID-19 cases

CONCORD – New Hampshire health officials reported three deaths and 547 new positive test results for the coronavirus Friday, based on results received Wednesday.

The reporting is a day behind schedule due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Health officials plan Saturday to release results for two days of testing.

The results released Friday increased the current number of active cases of COVID-19 to 4,570 and the total during the pandemic to 19,313.

The people who died were all identified as men age 60 or older, one each from Rockingham, Belknap and Merrimack counties. The death toll increased to 517 (about 3% of all cases).

The state reported 131 people hospitalized, raising the pandemic total to 836 (4% of all cases).

The 547 new cases include 61 people under the age of 18. The rest are adults with 52% female and 48% male. The new cases reside in Rockingham (125), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (102), Merrimack (46), Strafford (29), Carroll (19), Coos (19), Belknap (18), Cheshire (16), Grafton (12, and Sullivan (7) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (91) and Nashua (25). The county of residence is being determined for 38 new cases.

The seven-day rolling average of daily new cases in New Hampshire has risen over the past two weeks from 237 new cases per day on Nov. 12 to 357 new cases per day on Nov. 26.

The state reported 14,226 people are confirmed as recovered (about 74% of all cases).

NH Food Bank to host drive-through pantries

The New Hampshire Food Bank is hosting 19 drive-through mobile food pantries across the state during December to meet growing demand during the coronavirus pandemic.

The food bank has hosted dozens of mobile food pantries since March.

Food will brought to Lakes Region Community College in Laconia Dec. 1, 8 and 15, noon to 2 p.m.; Runnings in Claremont Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 29, ,10 a.m. to noon; the New Hampshire Liquor and Wine outlet parking lot in Colebrook Dec. 3, 10, 17 and 31, noon to 2 p.m.; Chapman's in Gorham Dec. 3, 10, 17 and 31, 10 a.m. to noon.; the Comcast parking lot in Manchester Dec. 4, 11 and 18, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and the New Hampshire Electric Co-Op in Plymouth Dec. 4, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The New Hampshire Food Bank estimates an additional 71,000 people are now food insecure in the state, meaning one in seven residents don't know where their next meal is coming from.
