GLYNDON, Minn. - A West Fargo man is suspected of burglarizing a home in the far western Minnesota town of Glyndon early Friday, Sept. 7, and sexually assaulting a minor who was living in the home, Glyndon Police Chief Mike Cline said.

At about 1:10 a.m. Friday, authorities were called to a Glyndon home after the father of the victim encountered an intruder in the kitchen and the intruder fled, Cline said.

A Moorhead police dog was brought in to try to track the intruder, but the effort was unsuccessful, the chief said.

Cline said the suspect was later spotted walking along U.S. Highway 10 and fled into a field in an attempt to hide, but he was ultimately captured and taken to jail.

The suspect, identified as Dakota William Michael Moran, was being held on suspicion of burglary and criminal sexual conduct, according to Clay County Jail records.

It's believed Moran, 23, was a friend of a neighbor of the home that was burglarized and that he was staying at the neighbor's residence, Cline said.
