Authorities have released the name of a man shot by Pleasant Grove police Thursday night.

ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation identified the man as Charles Curtis Warren. The 41-year-old was reportedly injured in the leg and taken to UAB Hospital for treatment.

The shooting happened about 6:15 p.m. in the 4000 block of Smithfield Forest Drive. Pleasant Grove Capt. Danny Reid said only that a suspect was wounded in the gunfire, but no additional details have been released because SBI has taken over the probe.

Warren lives on the road where the incident took place.

SBI officials on Friday said the investigation is ongoing and once complete, the findings will be turned over to the Bessemer Cutoff District Attorney’s Office.
