6 Edina Schools Drop Off COVID-19 Outbreak List

EDINA, MN — The number of Edina schools on the Minnesota Department of Health’s list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks dropped to its lowest mark in months, with four schools included Thursday.

Creek Valley Elementary, Highlands Elementary, South View Middle School and Edina High School were named on the most recent list, while six schools were removed:

  • Concord Elementary

  • Cornelia Elementary

  • Countryside Elementary

  • Normandale Elementary

  • Valley View Middle School

  • Our Lady of Grace Catholic School

The total number of coronavirus cases across Edina Public Schools has almost tripled over the past month, according to the district’s COVID-19 data dashboard. Officials reported 544 total cases Dec. 21; the district’s total case count stood at 1,456 on Jan. 21.

The district has also reported 238 cases among its 1,200 staff members since Aug. 30. That figure stood at 89 on Dec. 21.

The Minnesota Department of Health's most recent list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks included 92 Hennepin County schools, 40 less than last week. Thursday's list included 444 schools throughout Minnesota, 244 less than last week.
