Big Island’s Owens gets $2.3M grant for genetic therapy research

Burns School of Medicine and a Hilo High School graduate, was recently awarded $2.3 million from the National Institutes of Health to develop a novel approach to gene therapy.

Jesse Owens was just 17 when he decided to devote his life to gene therapy research.
